PERTH CBD TO WELCOME NEW HEMINGWAY-INSPIRED CAFÉ

Perth coffee connoisseurs and entrepreneurs, Neil and Zac Barrett, continues to challenge the expectations of a traditional coffee shop with the introduction of Hemingway Café, located within the newly renovated Central Park lobby on St Georges Terrace.

Named after well-known novelist, Ernest Hemingway, this latest edition to the Barrett’s extensive resume is the newest spot in the city to deliver your morning caffeine hit in a new and exciting way.

With quality coffee at the heart of its ethos, the café showcases specially imported espresso equipment never before used in Western Australia, transforming Five Senses beans into liquid gold.

The carefully considered coffee and beverage program has been devised by a certified Q Grader, or ‘Coffee Sommelier’, and will provide an opportunity for coffee lovers to try some new and exciting coffee options from around the world.

Forget your normal lunch paninis and grab-and-go meals, Hemingway Cafe’s food offering is anything but traditional. Barrett has collaborated with Chef Daniel Lim, who was recently highlighted for his inventive Jerusalem artichoke toast at Arrival Hall, to curate a high-quality and interesting food menu to match Hemingway Cafe’s beverage offering.

The menu boasts out-of-the-box lunch options such as Crab & Prawn BLTs, Spanish Potato & Chorizo Pancakes and a Lobster Roll special on Fridays. A nod to some of WA’s top suppliers, Hemingway Cafe will be creating its dine-in or takeaway menu utilising quality produce and nosh from some of Perth’s favourites, North Street Store, Raisin Bakery, Raw by Chris and Miller & Baker.

Café Owner Zac Barrett describes Hemingway Café as a love letter to coffee. “Our venues are about sharing quality coffee with like-minded people. Central Park is one of Perth’s largest office buildings, so we’re excited to bring a new, high-quality offering to the business district.”

Poetically, Ernest Hemingway was the key source of inspiration for this project, as Barrett was reading a Hemingway novel when he met his wife in 2012. The pair then read an excerpt from the novelist at their wedding 2 years later. Drawing on such meaningful inspiration is a theme that runs throughout many of Barrett’s venues.

Zac Barrett and his father opened their first venue, Mo Espresso, in Trinity Arcade back in 2013. Hemingway Café is the pair’s seventh venue, joining Mo Espresso, Mo Allendale, Max & Sons, Arlo By Mo, Balance Espresso and Jessie’s.

Located in Central Park’s recently refurbished lobby, Hemingway Café will allow staff and businesses from the building to order online from the website and have coffee and food delivered to their floor.

Central Park General Manager Tim Ward said, “Central Park is very excited to have such a quality business be part of our newly renovated lobby.

From the drinks, to the menu at Hemingway, the café will be a great addition to this precinct.”

Hemingway Café will be opening in the Central Park building from this Wednesday, 26th August and will be offering free coffees to the general public on Thursday 27 August 2020.
