Lobby Refurbishment Frequently Asked Questions

Customers will be communicated with you regularly throughout the refurbishment to ensure you are fully informed about the progress of the development.

See below for a list of FAQs, that may answer your initial queries.

Q. When will the lobby refurbishment start?
A. The lobby refurbishment is planned to commence in late May 2019 and completion is expected within 12 months.

Q. Why is the lobby being refurbished?
A.. Since the building was completed, the Perth CBD has changed beyond recognition – so too has how people choose to work and play. Central Park’s refurbishment will reflect these changes and has been designed to offer customers and visitors greater spaces to learn, focus, catch up and unwind.

Q. How long will the lobby refurbishment take?
A. The refurbishment will be completed in five main stages to minimise disruption to customers and surrounding residents and businesses. Completion is planned for May 2020. We will keep you regularly informed along the way.

Q. What will the lobby refurbishment look like?
A. Artistic renders are available at centralparktower.com.au. As the lobby takes shape and works progress, more imagery will be released.

Q. How will the lobby refurbishment affect me getting in and out of Central Park tower?
A. The refurbishment will be completed in stages to minimise disruption to customers and surrounding businesses. Pedestrian passageways will ensure safe, easy access to the building’s existing entry and exit points. There will be disruption and some inconvenience. However, we will keep you regularly informed throughout the refurbishment.

Q. Will the lobby refurbishment affect the lift wells and the lift I take to get to my office?
A. The refurbishment will be completed in stages to minimise disruption to customers. Lift wells will be affected during different stages, and delays may occur, but we will communicate via email, with your employer and via lobby signage as to how and when the lifts will be affected.

Q. Will the lobby works affect the park?
A. The park itself will not be affected by the lobby refurbishment works. However, the forecourt and retail arcade will be affected.

Q. Will the lobby works affect the carpark?
A. The carpark entrance facade will be refreshed and, while scaffolding will be erected around the entry, access will still be available as per normal via St Georges Terrace.

Q. Will there be any drilling or major works during office hours?
A. There may be times where audible works will occur during business hours. This will be communicated to customers when this occurs.

Q. Will the lobby refurbishment affect the forecourt thoroughfare between Hay Street and St Georges Terrace?
A. The thoroughfare will be affected during the later stages. Pedestrian passageways will ensure safe and easy access in and around the building. We will keep you regularly informed along the way.

Q. Will there still be a cafe in the lobby during the refurbishment?
A. Cespresso will not be trading in the Central Park lobby during the refurbishment. Great coffee is available in the Central Park Hay St precinct at Soul Origin, Gramercy and Curry House.

Q. Will the lobby refurbishment affect any of the retailers at Central Park?
A. The forecourt in and around the retail arcade will be retiled. Customers will still be able to access the retailers who will continue to trade as usual. On completion of the refurbishment, Central Park will welcome a new retailer within the new café adjacent to the lobby.

Q. Will I always be able to access the St George Bank?
A. St George Bank will remain open throughout the works and will continue to be accessible via St Georges Terrace.

Q. What is happening to the Brian McKay’s artwork panels?
A. The original Brian McKay artworks on the existing lobby walls will remain features of the refurbished interior.

Q. How will the lobby refurbishment improve Central Park?
A. Our primary aim is to make the working lives of our customers and guests easier, more comfortable, and streamlined. With new areas such as discrete business pods, a new multi-use café and function space, as well as other improved amenities, the refurbishment will create a contemporary place for you to conduct business and enjoy what Perth’s best location has to offer.

Q. Will the Concierge service still be provided during the works?
A. Yes, Concierge will still be available to assist you with your needs. The Concierge will be contactable on 0412 919 479 and located near the St Georges entrance during Stage 1 of the works. We will update you when they move location.

Q. How will you communicate to customers about what works are occurring and when?
A. Customers will receive regular communications from Central Park Management via email. Please sign up to the Central Park database, if you haven’t already done so. Signage will also be displayed in the lobby and around the building throughout the duration of the works to provide information and progress updates.

Q. Will the Conference Centre be affected?
A. At this stage the Conference Centre will not be affected by the refurbishment works. A refurbishment of the Conference Centre is being planned for later this year. More information will be circulated when the project has been approved.

Q. Will the Fitness Centre be accessible?
A. Yes, the Fitness Centre will remain open as per normal and accessible via the same entrance, in the retail arcade, next to Roll’d. There may be occasions where Fitness Centre members will need to access the gym via another entrance. Customers will be notified if this occurs.

Q. How will I get my mail and courier deliveries onto my floor?
A. There will be no change to mail and courier deliveries. All mail and courier deliveries are to the mailroom located at the Loading Dock in basement 3 and made via the goods lift onto your floor. Larger deliveries must be advised and made to the Loading Dock in advance on (08) 9480 0703.

Q. I’m a retail tenant, can I still get deliveries to my shop?
A. Some of the loading bays along Hay St might be unavailable for a period of time. Other loading bays will remain available along Hay St. For regular deliveries, please contact Central Park Management with your delivery schedule on (08) 9481 8000. We recommend larger deliveries to be made to the Loading Dock who should be advised in advance on (08) 9480 0703.

Q. Will there be any changes to emergency exits during the works?
A. There will be no changes to the emergency exits during the works.

Q. Will events be affected during the year of construction?
A. As the lobby and forecourt are under construction, there will be minimal space to hold exhibitions and events throughout that time. Central Park will hold a small selection of events throughout the period.

Q. The stairs to the End of Trip are closed off. How do I get there?
A. The stairs to the End of Trip facilities will be closed for a short period of time, but the lift to the basement will be functioning. Please use the lift while the stairs are closed.

Q. Has the smoking area changed?
A. No it hasn’t. Central Park the building, park and surroundings is a non-smoking venue, and this policy includes vaporisers and e-cigarettes.

Q. Who do I contact if I’m experiencing any issues with access into the building during the works?
