Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. 

We understand that going plastic free may seem hard, however, we have made it easy for you and your workplace to get started and be committed to reducing the reliance on single use plastics. It’s a great way to kick-start new habits. 


LUNCH & LEARN WORKSHOPS BY BETH JARMAN FROM SAUCED GARDENS

Beth Jarman is a small space gardener, practising self sufficiency and low waste living in suburbia. Sauced Gardens is a 319sqm urban, raised bed garden where Beth grows all of the fruit and vegetables that she needs to eat freshly and seasonally, as well as a surplus of food for preserving. Beth encourages people to grow their own food in small suburban spaces, eat seasonally and reduce their household waste. There are so many benefits to growing and preparing your own food, but the most important of these is maintaining the health of you and your family, achieving food security and saving yourself money on your weekly groceries.

Ditch the Supermarket Plastic and Grow Your Own Herb Garden
In this enlightening session, we will uncover the secrets to growing and preserving a herb garden that will provide you with a continuous supply of aromatic and flavourful herbs. Say goodbye to plastic-wrapped bundles and say hello to an abundant, pesticide-free herb garden right in your own home. 

Discover the essentials of herb gardening, from choosing the right location and containers to selecting the right herbs for your needs. We'll explore various methods for growing herbs indoors, on balconies, or in small outdoor spaces, so no matter where you live, you can embark on this rewarding journey.

WORKSHOPS BY PERTH CITY FARM

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix Jar
Join us for a fun and low-waste workshop - Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix Jar. This will make the cutest homemade food gift for your friends and family. Learn how to make this edible gift product, while being gentle on the environment to reducing plastic waste. Our expert bakers will guide you through the process, sharing tips and techniques to create the perfect blend of flavours and textures. You will be given all materials.
