FIND YOUR PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN LIFE AND WORK

  • Taking business to the top

    Taking business to the top

Since its foundation in 1992, Central Park has held the position as Perth’s most iconic business address, not only as its tallest building, but as a hub that has fuelled commerce in WA throughout the 1990s and beyond.

Designed by iconic Perth architectural firm, Forbes and Fitzhardinge, its creators envisioned an angular, geometric and striking building that would forever shape and redefine the city’s skyline. From its soaring glass canopy, to its podium towers, and the sprawling park at its base, Central Park is unlike any other building in Perth.

As some of the premier businesses from across the country and indeed the world based themselves at Central Park, the building bore witness to the rise and rise of the economy throughout the mid 1990s to the mining boom and beyond.

Today, the building’s space is being reimagined to usher in a new era of business that will continue this legacy.

  • An enduring artistic legacy

    An enduring artistic legacy

When legendary contemporary Australian artist Brian McKay was commissioned by Central Park to create a series of works for its lobby, few could have predicted how iconic they would become.

Inspired by the building’s geometric forms and layout, Brian created a series of mesmerising pieces that seamlessly wove architecture and art. These artworks were inspired by Brian’s upbringing in Greece and time living in London, where he was fascinated by a series of ancient Greek scripts and limestone engravings.

The project turned out to be highly ambitious – not only in terms of scale, but fabrication too. The largest piece of artwork measures 8 metres high by 18 metres long, with four other pieces measuring at 5 metres high by 4 metres wide. Each is made out of a composite aluminium material known as Alpolic, its silver blue and grey panels resulting in extraordinary subtle shifts in colour.

As the building’s lobby is being transformed, these artworks will be respectfully woven into the new space, ensuring that Brian’s art will inspire generations to come.

  • A green oasis in the heart of the city

A green oasis in the heart of the city

When Central Park opened in 1992, its park was a breath of fresh air in an increasingly built-up city. Incredibly, today it remains the CBD’s only green space.

This 5,000 square metre landscaped park has since been a popular spot for those in the city to have lunch, enjoy a coffee, or simply relax.

Throughout its time, the park has been a hub for the broader Perth community to get together. During the year, Central Park regularly hosts a variety of events and popups in the space. Charity events play a large part of this, with iconic yearly events such as the Central Park Plunge and Step Up for MS gathering at the park.
